Unusual hair streaks?

Hi all. I was thinking recently of putting some bright color into my hair, probably purple because it's my favorite. I was wondering if it would look strange with my style (I'm halfway between fairly girly and american casual) and my hair color. I have dark brown, almost black hair (it looks lighter in the picture). I wasn't going to put huge amounts in -- some light streaking throughout maybe.

If the color is a bad idea in your opinion, what color woulld you recommend?

It might look cool to streak the color throughout your bangs. If you're going for extreme color, I think it would be nice to compliment it with a fun hair cut as well, like lots of short and long layers, an asymmetrical bob, etc. And who knows, maybe an extreme hair color will make you want to take risks with your wardrobe as well! ;3

Color wise, I think purple would be a good choice for you. (Pink usually looks better with blonde hair, but that's just me. If I'm remembering right, a couple gyaru in egg have had pink streaks in the past.) Other than purple, have you thought about platinum blonde? It might be a more natural but still obvious looking contrast to your current color.

Hmm. You know, I never thought about doing it just in my bangs. That there is a good idea! I thought about pink, but not a light pink. More like fushcia. I agree that pink tends to look better on blondes.

On the blonde note I've had platinum blonde streaks in my hair before -- doesn't look very good on me. :/

black+purple= ok
BROWN+purple= not ok
try a crazy color. for a brown+pink cute effect try this:
a curvy line located at the ends of your hair
( you might want to cut or style your hair into this hair style to get the best effect )

it says yourr hair color on top and neon pink on bottom

Pink can look great with brunettes, too! Look at this girl:

To be honest, I like her brown x pink hair better than any blonde x brown I've ever seen, though I bet she had to put a lot of work into it to keep it that light.

Ooh I like blue too. Never had that in my hair before. Its hard to find the right shade, though. Sky blue would look really pretty.
